The year 1977 (French version)

Dream #1 : The year 1977

Dream : I am with my companion in a very big building, a single huge rectangular room, there are like stained glass windows on the back wall and on the left a small door. My companion is attracted by this door. Later, same place, she crosses the door which is so small that it is necessary to pass it squatted. And enters a small room, I am behind her but I see nothing. She comes out and I ask her what attracts her and what she has seen. No answer.

I leave the building and I enter a trailer, in the center there is a table, the seats on the sides, I settle down, there are other people sitting. A man says to me: "It's not right, you can't stay there, it's too heavy". I don't agree, he sends a child to get me out. The child climbs on the table and gives me a tap that I dodge. And then I tell the man to come and get me out himself because I don't want to hit the child. He gets up and we leave together.

Outside, we are in a wide street in soft slope. One holds the hand "the African (of the end of the fingers)", there are stalls on the ground of the restaurants. One crosses a group of Asian men on the left, a man of mixed race all alone on the right then another man on the left the road narrows and we arrive at the edge of the sea. There I start to fly low over the water and the man too. We fly forward, backward, the hands drag in the water, we see the fish and I decide to take altitude we go up a little moment and there we find ourselves blocked by the ceiling of the trailer.

Standing up, I say to myself: "Damn, it was a dream". I am all alone. The inside of the caravan is all nice, all tidy. I go out again, same street, same people, same shops, in one of them I see my wife (in reality, I don't know this woman), I find her beautiful. Well dressed, in good shape, I continue but I still feel something different and I decide to ask a person. I ask a woman with a gypsy look what year is it? She answers me about something else and leaves. I continue, I pass the same group of Asian men and I ask the man alone on the left and he tells me he can't answer me. I continue and there, in the rather dense crowd, a man turns around and hands me some newspapers and torn envelopes. On one of them, I can read the postmark, we are in 77. Now I am very happy and I cry with joy. In the dream, and when I wake up, I am still in my emotion but the year 1977 does not evoke anything special for me.

Dream #2: My colleague's knitting

Dream : I am with a former co-worker in what seems to be a hallway where we are waiting sitting (I don't know what). There is another person, but I don't remember well. I watch in awe as Laurence knits. She shows a lot of dexterity, especially compared to the other person next to her who is not so good at knitting. Laurence is a very charming person whose characteristic is to be obese. She shows me the vest she is finishing (she has started one sleeve and only has the other to finish). The vest is dark red, with several shades of burgundy and gold threads. Various knitting techniques give it character, relief. I think (and she does too) that it is very beautiful and very worked. There is a small heart at the bottom in black. My attention is drawn to another effect of three holes connected by a white border (which I do not find very pretty, but are cleverly integrated into the work). The vest is large (for Laurence) and very successful.

Sharing: This dream has to do with a question about the book I am writing in the time between jobs. I fear that it is my ego that is pushing me to want to express things in a book and at the same time, it is a very old wish that goes back to my childhood. My first experience in this matter failed (a book on author's account for a historical book already written during a period of unemployment) and now, I'm doing it again with a lighter, fictional book, but with messages that are meant to carry meaning and love. I am 4/5th of the way through the book (the vest is almost finished...), at least the first draft which will be reworked later. I can't think it could be a positive dream because of the mentions of obesity, red, and the holes. Still, the dream was not unpleasant and the vest was quite nice. I feel like I'm working on lack and ego and not on the life mission I would like it to be... could the answer be that I'm fooling myself?
