Dreams - Signs - Symbols

Night terrors (French version)

Nose care. A lack of communication. And the uncomfortable horse.

Dream #1: Night terrors

Night terrors - Understanding your dreams - Kaya

Kaya analyzes a testimony on night terrors:
My nephew's daughter is 5 years old and suffers from night terrors, she has them 2 to 3 times a week. The description I found on wikipedia is exactly what her mother told me.
Some of what follows is Sophie's behavior during these episodes of terror. Another part corresponds to what her mother observed.

Definition:
Night terrors begin early in the night or during long naps (within one to three hours of falling asleep) with a panicked cry. The child is often sitting up in bed. The eyes are wide and fixed (his eyes are empty) in mydriasis. He looks terrified, screams, and is unresponsive to his parents' attempts to reassure him: he struggles when you try to touch him to calm him down.

The seizure lasts from one to 20 minutes and is accompanied by tachycardia, polypnea, agitation (always the same hand gesture that we see towards the end of the video), sweating, screaming, redness of the face or sometimes pallor. It sometimes pronounces incoherent words (it seems that she speaks another language and that she calls someone unceasingly).

Generally, at the end of the crisis, the child calms down spontaneously and goes back to sleep. They have no memory of the seizure except in some exceptional cases, but it usually leaves their parents very worried and distraught."

Dream #2 : The nose care

Nose care - Understanding your dreams - Kaya

I am with Denise. We share the same room and we are like in a care center. She goes to get our meal to share in the room and she asks me what treatment I would like her to bring back and I tell her, "the nose treatment. Like you."

The next day, the last day of our stay, we will share our meal with our room mates, two of them.

Dream #3: A difficult relationship

A difficult relationship - Understanding your dreams - Kaya

I am sending you this dream because you seem to attribute a lot of importance to dreams. Perhaps you can help me to understand the meaning of it. First of all, there is something very striking in this dream and I must admit that it frightens me a little, because it could be premonitory. I woke up immediately after the dream. The first time I looked at the time it was exactly 3:40 am and I estimate that it must have been 5 to 10 minutes that I was awake. Before I tell the story of the dream, which is quite simple in the scenario, I would like to say that what brings me to pay so much attention to it, which I never do, is its shocking aspect.

In the dream there are at least 3 people. There might be others who could have been there and witnessed the scene but he focuses on 3 people.

There is a discussion between a mother and her daughter, the daughter almost always answers incessantly: "no mom, I'm going to kill myself and kill you" (I find this so cruel). There is no conclusion and no progress in the communication between the mother and the daughter finally the third person who is male intervenes.

He has a bit of a gangster look. He gives the impression of being a hitman. He has a huge gun (large caliber) and shoots the daughter coldly and then the mother. He is on the first floor while the daughter is higher up on a kind of interior balcony. The mother is on the same floor as him. I woke up immediately after he shot the mother.

As I was writing this dream, I remembered that I had another dream immediately before this one. Gripping, but less dramatic.

Dream #4: Discomfort on horseback

Discomfort on horseback - Understanding your dreams - Kaya

I'm riding my horse. I would say he was a fairly dark brown. Somehow I was quite comfortable on the horse, quite confident but not extra. At one point, because of the heavy traffic on the road, (lots of cars) we had to stay put.

Without having given him the order, the horse began to contort itself in a single movement. Its head and neck were strongly arched and remained in this position, in great distortion compared to its normal position which I estimate to be uncomfortable. I wanted to bring the horse back to its normal position but I did not know how to intervene.

In fact I have never ridden a horse and I have no knowledge of it. So I was overwhelmed by this circumstance. It was also uncomfortable because it put me in a position where I had to hold on to the horse's neck to avoid falling.

The horse was off balance and moving sideways. I could feel, more and more, that the horse was tired and wanted to go home. I was no longer able to give any commands and the horse went into the playground near my house. There is a lot of grass.

Following this, a discussion ensued, I think there was also Josee a girl I know who has horses and loves them very much (she offers horse rides to people). A discussion took place between her and the horse where he expressed his displeasure. It was about me. But I can't remember the details. This led me to understand the horse's situation and to show comfort.

I go back to the first dream. I woke up immediately afterwards. I didn't necessarily feel it as a nightmare, but I felt uneasy about the underhanded event that appeared to me in bad taste and left me in a strange state. To restore my psychological balance, I feel obliged to immediately try to make sense of it.
My first instinct was to say to myself: don't let your mother dominate you anymore. I don't necessarily see my mother as so dramatically domineering, but I felt for a long time a kind of injustice in the fact that she didn't support me in everything I did, especially music, and as a result I was never comfortable doing it.

When my parents sold their house to go to a retirement home and after my father passed away, I felt that she had changed. She tells me that she loves me, which she never did, and seems to want to encourage me. I, on the other hand, am still cold, as if I am still skeptical about it.

I thus considered that this dream could be positive insofar as it would announce the end of this unpleasant feeling towards my mother. All my analysis was thus concentrated on this hypothesis which appeared to me strongly logical. When I started writing, it occurred to me that the girl's voice and the way she expressed herself sounded very much like a girl I know and the very relationship she has with her own mother. She is blind, has blackouts and a speech impediment that makes talking very difficult. She is under public guardianship and therefore does not have much freedom to do as she pleases. Her mother is currently suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Then I remembered, that the striking side of a dream can express a premonition. I said to myself: I hope that nothing bad has happened to Josee. Maybe her mother has passed away. I talked to her on the phone two days ago. She is having problems with the DYP (Department of Youth Protection) which is completely upsetting her. I leave it at that for now, I don't know what to think.
